The British had a coup today when they captured a completely intact Fokker Monoplane – an EIII number E210/15. Also captured of course is a copy of the German Sychronisation gear which has provided the Fokker with much of its superiority up to now.
A novice German pilot took off from Valenciennes to deliver the new aircraft to Wasquehal but got lost in haze and landed at a British aerodrome east of St. Omer. He was forced to surrender before he realised his error and could destroy the aircraft.
This aircraft is the only remaining original Fokker Monoplane in existence and is on display at the Science Museum in London.
