24 May 1916 – Car Crashes

The high attrition rate amongst RFC pilots from both enemy action and flying accidents continues. Nevertheless pilots continue to be killed in equally mundane ways.

Today Lieutenant Robert Henry Hubert (Robin) Le Brasseur died from his injuries following a motor car accident yesterday. Le Brasseur, who was on sick leave from the front, was motoring to Norwich, Norfolk when a tyre burst near Aylsham causing his car to collide with a house.
