The logistical needs of the RFC on the Western Front have grown to such an extent that a new post was created today to manage them. The Deputy Adjutant and Quartermaster General will be responsible for all technical and supply matters on the Western Front including:

• posting of officers
• handling of casualties
• supply of material
• allotment of aeroplanes.

The post is second only to the Officer Commanding the Royal Flying Corps in the Field, Hugh Trenchard and carries the rank of Brigadier General.

Robert Brooke-Popham moves from his current post as Chief of Staff Royal Flying Corps in the Field, to fill the new post.
