26 February 1915 – Allied aircraft assist the shelling of the Dardanelles

British warships recommended the shelling of forts on the Dardanelles peninsula yesterday and continued the action today. Yesterday French hydroplanes dropped bombs on the Forts, but poor weather ruined any other flying. Today British planes assisted the ships in locating enemy batteries whilst the ships shelled the forts of Sedd el Bahr, Kum Kale, Helles, Dardanos and Orkanie and landing parties destroyed the guns at Sedd El Bahr and Kum Kale.
