The Germans bombed Dunkirk again today. In a change from the usual single attacks, the 12 aircraft flew in formation to drop their bombs. 66 bombs were dropped on the town, nine people were killed, and various buildings were damaged including the United States Consulate.
British and French and Belgian aircraft took off to intercept and despite the new tactics managed to down one of them with rifle fire. The bullet hit the engine and was forced to land otherwise unmanaged. the crew were captured. Both Cpt FV Holt and Lt RP Mills of 4 Squadron RFC are claiming the victory.
Another aircraft was hit by AA fire and crashed killing the crew.
